Yoga Instructor
Cassie Reed
As an educator, I am passionate about helping people to live a holistic healthy lifestyle through yoga, pranayama (breathing practices), sound healing, and nutrition and diet, which form a balanced connection between mind, body and spirit.
I have been practicing various forms of yoga for over 32 years. I am a certified with Yoga Alliance as a 500-hour Instructor. I completed 200 hours of Ayurveda Fundamentals Training at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health located in Stockbridge, MA. I am certified as a YA15 Breath Coach and underwent two years of intense training for Sound Healing in central Vermont. I’m also a graduate of the University of Vermont Master Gardener Program. These various modalities have all worked together to transform my connection to myself and those that I am teaching.
Through Ayurvedic studies, I realized that not only are our individual constitutions important, but so is the movement of breath, pranayama or the flow of nweergy in the body, and the experience of the body itself and the senses, including the power of sound. My Yoga classes incorporate movement with asana, pranayama breath connection, mudra and mantra to help soothe the mind, and ayurvedic lifestyle consultation for a complete well-balanced and nourishing experience. I aim to help others on their healing paths by crafting my own herbal tea remedies and tinctures with locally grown organic plants. My ten years as a Wyoming & Vermont Forest Service Wilderness Ranger, telemark skier, and perennial gardener have also enhanced my connection to the wonderments of the natural world. I encourage this connection to nature in all the healing arts I practice.
In recent years, I became interested in sound healing as a powerful teaching tool. Sound healing, through “Sound Baths,” conveys ancient rhythms & vibrations to heal mind, body & spirit! Music therapy & chanting further our inner transmutation by employing “vibrational changes” in the central nervous system, which may play a role in their time-tested and science-backed brain, cognitive, & mood benefits! I transmit these through singing quartz crystal bowls, a large, hand-crafted womb drum, whimsical chimes, ancestral rattles, singing and chanting, and an energetic feather fan.
My goal as a teacher is to help people discover and strengthen their own inner resources for health and healing. Even when things are unknown, chaotic, or stressful, it can help us find that inner sense of peace and equanimity.
